Course Information

The courses are 1,3 or 5 days duration, and follow the training programme by the RTITB Ltd and the requirements of the HSE Code of Practice for Rider Operated Lift Trucks (L117). Trainees are tested on their theoretical and practical knowledge and, if successful, are issued with our training certificate and identification card. There is no expiry date on the certificate but the Health and Safety recommend a refresher after a reasonable period of time.

THEORETICAL INSTRUCTION Operators Safety Code, Daily Inspections, Checks and Take-Over Procedures, Correct Operating Practice, Lift Truck Stability.
PRACTICAL INSTRUCTION Handling Various pallets and load. Vehicle and/or racking loading and unloading. Working on confined spaces and Pre-Use checks.
COURSE OBJECTIVE On completion of training the trainee should be able to operate a fork lift truck safely and with confidence, including manoeuvering in confined spaces, elevating, lowering, closely stacking and de-stacking pallet loads with precision. The trainee is only covered to operate the type of truck that he/she has a certificate for. Any other types of trucks will require a further conversion and test. It is recommended that trainees are supervised for a period after training.
